This notice was posted on the Kunming Water Authority's official WeChat account. Pardon the quick and dirty translation job:
"Water outages caused by pipe replacements will affect neighborhoods along Xuefu Lu (from Jiaochang Zhong Lu to Huangtupo), the Hongshan area, Jinding area, along Dianmian Dadao, along Puji Lu, the Gaoxin area and the northwest part of Kunming. Water outages may be complete in some areas, while others will see a lowering of pressure."
The scheduled stoppage time is Nov 28 at 10pm until Nov 30 at midnight.
I hope some of the more avid bird-watchers (of which I'm not) make some comments here. The best things I've seen so far are a Lady Amherst's pheasant on Dali's Cangshan, and a what looked like a family of Gaur outside of Tengchong. Not sure what they were though.
If anyone has a well-established English corner they would like to add to the GoKunming Calendar, feel free to get in touch with us through the contact form and we'll help you out:
Had the buffet here recently. A bit expensive but discounts are available for groups. Seafood, including crab, lobster and sushi were all fantastic. European and Chinese dishes were great as well. Beer was included with dinner. Overall, excellent service and food.
Excellent dumplings for omnivores, vegetarians and carnivores. This is a hole in the wall joint with no frills, but the owners are friendly and the dumplings are just right. Five stars if they get higher quality vinegar.
