It took five years for the Canton Fair to fill up. That only happened due to the prestigious history of the Canton Fair, excellent trade show management, and Guangzhou's continuous dedication to funneling resources to the Pazhou area. Kunming's new Dianchi centre will be 15 years old before a Kunming to Singapore line is operational, assuming they start laying down track tomorrow.
Kunming is a landlocked non-manufacturing hub with no rail connection to any country. That reality vs what I rode by doesn't mesh.
I rode by this place today. It's a construction site still. Rebar showing from unfinished pavilions. No concrete parking lot.
There is nothing within 1km of the place. No hotels, restaurants, or shops. I didn't see a bus coming any direction. I assume they are going to have a special shuttle or attendance is going to drop. It's probably too far for most ebikes without a charge inbetween to get there and back.
The pavilions are ridiculously big. If I were an exhibitor, I'd bring a microwave and my own box lunch. Services inside will probably suck and have lines. Also, nothing but a gas station to drive to nearby and a tiny college street.
Erji road is finished. Very easy long drive. Ends near this monstrosity.
10m of green space per might be a lot as the total implies at least 70,000,000 sqm of park space. They'd have to included chenggong area parks to hit that number.
Nice little spot. I've stumbled across a few of these xiaoqu parks, and they do seem to be some kind of uni or pension housing. The pleasure of going from city concrete noise to a peaceful little park is always pure joy.
Excellent interview. Does anyone know how I pay for my garbage collection? I pay a monthly wuguan fee, but don't assume it covers the city guy dumping the bins into his cart. Maybe the xiaoqu is levied a waste fee?
Just to be clear, the entanglement experiments are a few years old now, and originally done by other countries/organizations. China has just moved the envelope on how far, which is still a nice achievement.
Never gotten sick once at Sals. Their food is TexMex, so yeah, not authentic Mexican food, but pretty authentic as TexMex goes. Burrito wrap has improved a lot. Like the draft beer option now.
If you haven't had dairy products in a while, and do eat here, best forgo the sour cream. Nothing wrong with it, in fact it's the best sour cream in Kunming, but if you've eaten Chinese for month or months with no dairy intake, your system will react to sour cream or probably any liquid dairy product not so well. Maybe that's what happened with nailer and tallamerican.
It's now 5 working days for regular processing. So I submitted my application a bit before 5pm on a Friday and was told to pick it up next week Friday after 5pm.
Cost is now 400rmb for a single 30 day entry. Or that was what I was charged anyways. There are no posted prices and its cash only with no receipt except for your passport pickup. That's like $65 USD.
You can pay another 150rmb for 2 day or 100rmb for 3 day processing. For 400rmb, they should process it in three days like they used to before, but now you'd pay 500rmb. The office is still like deserted most of the time, so why does it take longer now and cost extra. If you opted for 2 day, thats like $90 usd. All other neighboring countries charge like $25usd.
The rest of and cope review is still good for hours and location.
