"Has ANY ambassador or consulate general EVER read China's Five Year Plan? That will show you the maturity and intent of that country's key in-country representatives." as wityh all politics everwhere there is the espoused policy intent and the policy and intent in action. and what is expedient locally. what bj wants places like km always add their own ideas, some of which are off policy and out of date, or even in some places not so clever. hell, look at the bus road planning.

50% margin sounds like a lot, but actually it isn't for this type of industry. The margins on some of things you buy can be as high as 300%.

We think of low margins when we look at mass selling, dry grocery in the supermarkets for example. Unless a product is ONLY available in the supermarket, and supermarkets only compete with each other, we don't see low margins. A lot of products in the supermarkets (e.g. chips and soda) have margins of 30% plus).

If the picture in the article is recent, it also shows another design problem with Chinese fountains.

All the pipework and lights are usually above the water. This is easier for maintenance, but in the 99% of the time when the fountain is not operating, it is an eyesore. Putting the pipes, etc. below the water is done in most other countries, that way people can enjoy the ambience of the lakes waters most of the time.

I have seen areas of Shanghai bankrupt their own local market and collapse, due to unsustainable rents.

It is more about dumb greed of owners. If their neighbour gets 30k they want at least that, and will let property sit empty for years in the vain hope of getting the higher rent.

Swedish design ideas, kunming build quality. i have bought lots of ikea stuff in the past, the furniture at #11 are poor facsimiles of genuine item. Yes stuff is affordable, but poorly made and overpriced in my opinion. we took a good look around and looked closely at build quality and walked away.

It might be worth identifying which Prague venue you are reviewing.

When I first arrived in Kunming I did a tour of Wenlin Jie. I did't like the look of Prague.
More recently I have used Prague in Beichen a lot and I like it.

Ref the comment @nonsecond about being made sick from raw apple, WTF?
