Cars, of course, preferably with tinted windows, and the more expensive the better.
Expensive apartments....list is endless, consisting of almost anything, the main point being that it's something most people can't/don't have. World economy runs on this kind of idiocy.

'they' are the privileged, and allow privileges for the privileged, at least for awhile. Then sometimes they change the privileges.
The main point is not actually to play golf, which is attractive enough - the point is to radiate the status of one who is privileged. Golf is a marker, but there are others, and in the end it doesn't really matter too much what they are.

How does this thing work?
I fail to see the point of locking up threads unless they're somehow threatening somebody or the website - if it dies, it dies, okay.

Another thought is to speak to neighbors politely about the situation first - starting out with the Law in China may not be the best way to approach problems. But if you can't do it politely, either live with it or, if you can't do that either, call the number Xiefei has provided.

OK but them sings are right there in the train toilet, and there are plenty of other ones that could of bing avoided in 30 minutes or less for less than a hundred rmb.

About time.

Why is it that state organizations, as well as private ones, don't bother to find a native English speaker and pay him 50 kuai or so before designing a sign? Note that toilets on all the trains I've ever been on (probably near a hundred) in this, the world's most populous country, have a sing reading "Please flush closet pot".

For foreigners here without families to go back to, the Spring Festival is a bit inconvenient; for everybody, the travel situation is annoying. However, I still really like the idea that, once a year, the population says 'Enough already! Stop everything, we're going home to be with our families, everything else can be on hold.'

Not quite what you'd call a jumping place, but not bad at all for rather standard US-type meals, not overly expensive, and with a really good salad bar that's cheap, or free with most dinner dishes after 5:30PM. You can get a bottle of beer or even wine if you really want to, but I've never seen anybody do it - maybe that's just to take out. Chinese Christian run, and they hire people with physical disadvantages, who are pleasant and helpful. Frequented by foreign (mostly North American) Christians and Chinese Christians - was started by a Canadian couple associated with Bless China (previously, Project Grace), who are no longer here, but no religious pressure or any of that. Steaks are nothing special, and I avoid the Korean dishes, which I've had a few times but which did not impress me.

As a shop and bakery, it's very good bread at reasonable prices, of various kinds (Y18 for a good multigrain loaf that certainly weighs well over a pound. Other stuff too, like granola and oatmeal that is local, as well as imported things, including American cornflakes and so forth, which some people seem to require.



Large portions, seriously so with the pizza, which is Brooklyn/American style, I guess. Convivial, conversational, good place to drink with good folks on both sides of the bar, especially after about 9PM.



Really good pizza and steaks. The wine machine fuddles me when I'm a bit fuddled, & seems unnecessary. Good folks on both sides of the bar.
