If you can find it, this book remains one of the biggest and best I have seen:

Black Dragon Pool, Green Lake Park and the Western Hills will most likely be crammed with people. I'd recommend Xuning Temple:
Lovely and spacious, so even if crowded, you can still get good pics. Also, if the weather is good, you can take fantastic shots of much of Kunming.
Here is the school listing:

Check out the 'reviews' tab to see how students rate it.
Here is a complete list of Chinese Ministries (I think)

Passable no-frills Dongbei food including lots of dumplings, tofu, disanxian and other standards. Fair prices too.
A pleasant surprise hiding inconspicuously inside the Second Ring Road. Go for the temple, stay for the lovely forested park and its ample solitude.
Excellent service even when packed and the food is top notch. Great group of owners too.
Had the buffet here recently. A bit expensive but discounts are available for groups. Seafood, including crab, lobster and sushi were all fantastic. European and Chinese dishes were great as well. Beer was included with dinner. Overall, excellent service and food.
Excellent dumplings for omnivores, vegetarians and carnivores. This is a hole in the wall joint with no frills, but the owners are friendly and the dumplings are just right. Five stars if they get higher quality vinegar.
Diaper Drive! Help buy nappies for in-need tots
Posted byCongratulations to Ozzie's, the Kunming Rotary and everyone who turned out for a great evening! The fundraiser pulled in more than 22,000 yuan — enough to buy diapers for the next 12 months. Great work Kunming!
Volunteering in Kunming's forgotten 'urban villages'
Posted byThese places are home to "thousands of immigrants from the countryside". Many of these families have extreme difficulty finding ways to register their kids to attend schools, much less pay for tuition. So no, many of them don't go to class.
As for the sandwiches, that was an introductory activity, what teachers call a 'warmer', to gain trust, establish comfort and make sure the kids come back the next time.
Exploring the other side of the ocean photo exhibit opens at Kunming Museum
Posted by@Ocean We called to confirm and the exhibit is at the Kunming Museum, its a little bit hidden in the second basement level.

Posted byWe'll have to wait and see. News reports are pretty fuzzy, but the archeologists certainly seem excited.
