Forums > Living in Kunming > 101 Good Reasons to live in China

We all get frustrated and we all need a good old fashioned bitching session occasionally, just to let off steam. The internet has provided some convenient outlets for this, they go by the name of blogs and forums.

It is probably healthy to let off steam, but definitely not healthy to read other peoples, much needed, venting and take it on board. We all suffer from BCD, even my Chinese wife.

P.S.
If you have to list your stuff as stock/merchandise/samples anything like that, you may have to pay export duty.

Also, see if you can find a shipping agent. They may be able to do it more easily than you can.

Yes the figures make sense.
Unis expect more towards 6000 + flights + accom.

High schools - the figures look about right. Expect accommodation or accom allowance.

NB Subject teachers, esp Maths/Science can earn much more than English Teachers in high schools.

The woman in the office is probably unwilling to help you. If the word 'difficult' is used, it usually means that it cannot be done.

I would get someone to ship it on your behalf.
Remember you may also have to pay Australian customs duty on personal effects. Add this to the cost, and see if it is really worth sending.

If you are shipping business things, can you use the business licence of the company that you worked with? I assume you were working with another company.

@Yereth, I can see the logic of what you are doing. However, there are only very few very long ads, and I often still want to scan/skim these, which I cannot do.
Overall I am no just not doing this as click and wait is not my style.
I may be alone but I don't think so.

A couple of things I noticed navigating.
1. In the comments section, I see oldest first, this requires me to click on the latest page number, another action required by the reader.

Can it be set to newest at top? Is this just my browser settings?

2. When I click to look at classifieds, I get a list of cropped ads. I need to click on each one to see full text. and then click to go back. Before I was able to scroll through all the complete ads, which was much easier and faster, even if I was scrolling past some ads. For me the ads are now less user friendly. I used to just skim though them, and occasionally I would make an impulse buy. Now, this is less likely.

Great changes.
Thanks to the GoK team, all.
I will also echo @Geezer, the grey font is hard to read, and a bit small for comfort if I was to read for a long time.

A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.

Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.

In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
