@mike
I don't know many locals who can read a map, this includes taxi drivers.
Other roadsign probably means 'you must not drive up to the bridge. Maybe there was a problem with trucks driving across the dirt and joining traffic dangerously.

You say 'thermals'. This is not quite the same as wind. If you can tell us your purpose you may get a better response. I do know that there is paragliding there.
I tried that, but a lot of teaching or more academic books are not available. Although T&A is a popular genre.
A school I was at 3 years ago was looking at doing this.
There were scanners online for 1500rmb, that could scan a page a second. I think it was a pdf scanner. Some could also scan double pages.
It might be worth considering, and if you can sell the scanner on afterwards, the main cost is time.
The OP is still an undergraduate and will not finish his degree until December, but is looking to come here for work in July. As such he will not be qualified for a work visa.

Great to know it is no longer dry.
Good review BTW
This has moved.
The cut flowers are about 700m east on Duonan Jie. The plants and trees are about 700 m west and follow Duocai Section.
A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.
Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.
In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.
They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.
They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
Kunming to put 45,000 public use bikes on roads
Posted byI have seen lots of these bikes around. I have yet to use any.
From what I can see, you scan the QR code on the bike, which unlocks it. I assume you scan again to re-lock it. I assume billing is by Wechat.
It looks like you don't need to find a bike park, and I assume that the location of the bike is known from the location data from the phone that scans the QR code.

New governor sparks controversy with verbal gaffe
Posted by[M]any repeatedly asked the question, "Is there no local official to hold this important office?"
Well most of them are taking a prolonged break, at a government run institute.
Film Review: Shanren mini-doc Qike Ami
Posted byExcellent short film. It is nice to see something non-han being featured as central subject, and not merely as a subdivision of Chinese culture.
