Rumor has it that they're still working on getting it right (the tacos).
Note new thread about tacos & Paul's shop, though there's no mention of pizza.
There are probably statistics somewhere about people in countries other than the ones they grew up in going mental in those other countries. Whatever the countries concerned happen to be, I'd guess there are some fairly high ratios involved.
I've been an extra in a few films also and had a well-known director as a student once. Xiefei's suggestions about making sure you're paid right and so forth sound like they make sense to me, but if you're going to do this it's important to realize that you are a very small cog in a vary large operation and are not being paid because you're an important cog, and that schedules simply cannot always be relied on, unforeseen things happen, new ideas pop into the director's, or somebody else's, head...point is, don't go to the set imagining that you are some kind of big wheel and splitting hairs about your rights, etc. - yeah, of course you should be treated decently, but don't expect to be able to clock in exactly at 9, clock out at 5 or whenever - movies are not made like that, and I doubt if any would be made if every real or imaginary slight were pounced on by everybody concerned all the time. If you expect otherwise, don't take the job.

Not quite what you'd call a jumping place, but not bad at all for rather standard US-type meals, not overly expensive, and with a really good salad bar that's cheap, or free with most dinner dishes after 5:30PM. You can get a bottle of beer or even wine if you really want to, but I've never seen anybody do it - maybe that's just to take out. Chinese Christian run, and they hire people with physical disadvantages, who are pleasant and helpful. Frequented by foreign (mostly North American) Christians and Chinese Christians - was started by a Canadian couple associated with Bless China (previously, Project Grace), who are no longer here, but no religious pressure or any of that. Steaks are nothing special, and I avoid the Korean dishes, which I've had a few times but which did not impress me.
As a shop and bakery, it's very good bread at reasonable prices, of various kinds (Y18 for a good multigrain loaf that certainly weighs well over a pound. Other stuff too, like granola and oatmeal that is local, as well as imported things, including American cornflakes and so forth, which some people seem to require.
Large portions, seriously so with the pizza, which is Brooklyn/American style, I guess. Convivial, conversational, good place to drink with good folks on both sides of the bar, especially after about 9PM.
Too bourgeois.
Really good pizza and steaks. The wine machine fuddles me when I'm a bit fuddled, & seems unnecessary. Good folks on both sides of the bar.
Ain't no flies on Salvador's.
Lijiang vendors strike, protesting old town entry fee

Lijiang vendors strike, protesting old town entry fee
Posted byI take your point, but strikes have been known to produce results.

Posted byThe strike sounds like a good idea. I also seems that local income taxes would be a good idea in China, although I'm sure they'd be really hard to enforce.
