Just around the corner from Paul's Shop, just off Wen Hua Xiang, is a small hole-in-the-wall laundry place. When they are closed, you can't tell it's a laundry, but they leave a note on the door with a phone number to call. Go to Paul's Shop and ask around. Turn left just after Paul's Shop and it's about 20 seconds walking down the road.

Mandarin Books on Wen Hua Xiang has some kids' books, though not too many, and not too cheap. For example, I saw a paperback copy of The Cat in the Hat for 70 kuai (~US$10). They had Chinese stories in English for 30 kuai. There are bigger bookstores in Kunming that have many kids' books to teach Chinese kids English, but I'm not sure about the selection for native English speakers. If I were you, I'd go to a used or half-price book store in your country and stock up. Good English-language books for adults here are expensive, and imagine the same is true for kids.

If you take bus 79 north, just after turning right off of Longquan Lu there are many outdoor nurseries selling trees and plants.

Also, I see people biking around Beijing Lu near Jiang Dong Hua Yuan selling houseplants from their bike carts.

I went today. The "underwear models" were a few people walking around on stage in nightgowns (women) and Calvin Klein briefs (men). There was a museum exhibit containing ancient paintings, vases, tea pots, fans, etc. depicting various revealing acts.

In the sex toy sale area, there was a chair with two seats, one a stool that moved back and forth towards the other side. Also, there was a yoga ball with attached dildo for using in various positions, as well as a vibrator made of coiled wire for electric shocks.

The crowd was mostly middle-aged Chinese couples. Worth a visit if you have nothing better to do, but not as exciting as it sounds.
