Vote now for the Best of Kunming 2018-2019!

Voting is now officially underway for the twelfth annual Best of Kunming Awards. Beginning today and running through midnight of December 31, readers can choose their favorite Kunming businesses and establishments here on the website. A separate, smaller group of categories in Chinese will be made available soon through GoKunming's WeChat official account.

The nominations are in following a one-week nomination process across our 12 website categories. Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out our survey and submit the names of their favorite places! Each group contains eight nominees — except for the two destinations categories, which have more. These lists automatically include last year's winners. In response to nomination feedback, we've swapped out the ''Best Guesthouse" of year's past and replaced it with "Best Brewery".

How to vote

Voting for 2018-2019 is open to all registered GoKunming users. Simply log in and then place your votes here, or follow the 'Vote now!' links below. If you do not yet have a GoKunming account, you can sign up by registering here. Each person is allowed only one ballot, so make sure yours counts!

How to win this year's voting prizes

As with last year, we are offering the chance to win prizes for all who vote on the website using a verified GoKunming account. The voting prizes have been graciously donated by Yang Liping. We'll be giving away two pairs of VIP tickets to a performance of Dynamic Yunnan (value: 960 yuan/pair). If you would like to become eligible to win, be sure to log in, cast your ballot in all categories and enter your current phone number in the proper field. A random drawing will be held January 1 and the winner will be notified by Sunday, January 13. Good luck!

Voting results will be announced on the website following the sixth annual Best of Kunming Awards Ceremony, which will be held the evening of Saturday, January 12. The evening will feature a show recognizing the winners in each category, speeches by award recipients, performances and a lucky draw for attendees. More details are coming soon.
