Community Supported Agriculture project featuring traditional Yunnan dishes made with non-certified organic food from small farms around Qujing
I go to Tusheng 2-3 times a month. It is consistently excellent and the staff have improved their level of service dramatically since it first opened. Proper food and a great atmosphere.
Five stars for the food. Go with Yereth's recommendations, plus any vegetable the waitress says is fresh.
Beware that Xue Fu lu is one way, so many taxis have to take a roundabout way to get here.
Was here again last night and had a great meal as usually. Easily one of my favourite restaurants in town. Definite recommendations include any variation of their stir-fried rice-cake (饵块, erkuai) and tofu skin (腐竹, fuzhu) dishes.
Greatly appreciated as well are their efforts to serve clean, organic food.
Very delicious, though a bit pricey (perhaps 45-60 per person depending on how much meat you want). Considering it's all top-notch organic ingredients, I still think it's a 5 stars in value.
I've been eating here regularly for a year now and my opinion of it keeps getting better. The staff and owners are lovely welcoming people, and the food is excellent.
It's the only Chinese restaurant in Kunming where I can be confident that I'm not ingesting large amounts of agricultural poison along with my food.
Go there. Often.
