Forums > Living in Kunming > Why do prices on taobao vary so much?

Some other reasons why items can be listed cheap.

Some of the electronic stuff is what would be sold as 'reconditioned' in UK. That is, it has been returned by the customer, under waranty (and repaired) or just not wanted. Because the item is not new, it cannot be sold as new, even though it is re-sealed. But TIC.

Some things are too cheap to be true. These are possibly a scam, pay your money and get nothing.
Some are stolen goods.
Some are stock clearance items (fire or bankruptcy sale)

Some are factory seconds, but sold as top quality.
Some are end of line/factory clearance.

I would bring the basic meds. Especially pain killers and diarrhea tabs. You can get them here, but when you need them the first time, the last thing you want to do is 'trot' down to the pharmacy.
I should have been a bit clearer on this point. You can certainly replenish your cookies here, but on the journey in come stocked with some snacks.

About the sweat thing. Chinese do sweat, although seem to feel the cold more, so perhaps sweat less. But the big thing with body odour, and there are some stinkers here, is pubic hair. Not so abundant on the average Chinese body, and so fewer chances for bacteria to breed.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Guide to Marrying a Chinese Woman

5/ If you are older, perhaps a divorcee, consider marrying the same. The fanciful ideas have largely gone, and people have a better idea of what to expect and what they don't want.
6/ If Chinese wife's parents also have their 100% chinese grandchild you will escape so much fillial BS. Don't be afraid of existing kids.

7/ Find a professional woman, of similar social and educational background. Once the novelty of item 4, cute and sexy, wears off you need something to share.

Kunming is not really know for textiles. I would haazard a guess that 99% of the stuff in the shops here is out of Guangdong. These guys only handle large orders and are also familiar with export requirements (paperwork etc).
I would also have fewer trust issues with Guangdong ren.

For those who drive, there are going to be a couple of bridge closures and other major roadworks over the holiday.
You xiaoqu (community) management should have a government printed booklet on all of the closures and detours. We were given ours today.

I think the aim is to write about people who are active in the expat community. The writers will hit the people they already know as low hanging fruit. Maybe is someone who likes to write knows people in the music scene.they could broaden the range of people covered.

It isn't the first time. but it is still of interest as I now know of another nice place to go for a change.of scenery. It is also nice that another type of cuisine has been added to the local scene.

A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.

Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.

In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
