Forums > Living in Kunming > Flights to Phnom Penh

Hi,

Can anyone advise the best (cheapest!) way to fly to Phnom Penh from Kunming in May?

I'm not in Kunming at the moment and it appears my knowledge of Kunming's international flight connections is a bit dated now.

At the moment I can only find flights from Hong Kong. Are there ANY direct flights from Kunming? Nanning? Chengdu? They are possibly on irregular days and I have missed them in my searches.

Any help is much appreciated.

Xiexie ga!

Forums > Travel Yunnan > Visa for China made in Indonesia

In January this year I was was able to get a 30 day tourist visa from the consulate in Jakarta as a UK citizen. There were some posts on other forums saying it wasn't possible and that you could only get the visa if you were a resident in Indonesia. Thankfully this was incorrect!

As with most countries they've tightened up the rules in Indonesia and you need to supply proof of entry/exit (flight bookings) and a letter of invitation OR hotel booking.

Usually you can only get a 90 day tourist visa if you apply in your country of citizenship but it can't hurt trying for a 60.

A lot of really valuable information and advice here! I am also considering the shift to private teaching.

Can someone explain the legality of teaching "private lessons" here. For example, working on a student or tourist visa is obviously illegal (albeit common), and I'd imagine teaching private lessons would be outside the scope of a visa granted by a workplace by a school, right?

Which begs the question - drafting contracts is purely for face rather than having any legal weight?

Thanks.

Have been to Jia's Jia's place about two dozen times. Love the pizzas, especially the blue cheese one. The staff have always been nice and attentive. The yoghurt with honey is a must! A very quaint place. Perfect to get away from the bustle of Wenhua Xiang and Wenlin

Jie. I often take visiting family and friends here. It's also a good place to practice your Mandarin.

I spent three nights at Chongzijia last month.

The rooms are new, clean and full of natural light. The beds are really comfortable! The bathroom was also fine and had all the amenities.

Good and quiet location hidden off a sidestreet (not too difficult to find). Only about two minutes walk to the main streets.

Michele and Libby were fantastic hosts. Libby's mother is a great cook and it was also a pleasant surprise to be treated to some real Italian cuisine.
