I got a call from cops today. Something about a new system, asked me to come register again. They were polite, but it's also sort of annoying and a bit of an inconvenience. Oh well, TIC.

Anybody had any exceptional non-Western dining experiences in Kunming lately? I have some old standards, but feel like some of the places I've been going for years are starting to get boring or slipping in quality.

This is one new one that we found recently that I think is worth a trip: www.gokunming.com/[...]

Anybody else have any spots they would like to share?

Anybody have any good ideas about routes and airlines for flying from Kunming to Berlin? Or maybe a train to Chongqing or Chengdu first to try to get a more direct flight?

My understanding is that the author took it upon himself to interview fellow members of the Yunnan foreign business club and submit the articles to GoKunming. The second article he did was about Jeff Crosby, who to my knowledge is not, and has never been, an advertiser on GoKunming.

I've been taking boxing classes with Kasey, who is an excellent teacher. The studio is no-frills, but they have a wide range of yoga, self defense and other classes. And some of the teachers even donate the class fees to charity. Glad to have Spring City Yoga Collective as part of the community in Kunming.

I won a month card as a raffle prizes at the Have a Heart fundraiser. I think it's wonderful that they supported with prizes for the event. I hope even more businesses can donate prizes next year.

The studio is conveniently located, clean, nice teachers, between two and three classes to choose from every day. They also have private yoga, physical therapy, etc.

Stopped in today while out on a motorbike ride. Nice place to chill out away from the hustle and bustle of town. Can swim in the reservoir nearby (although technically prohibited, nobody seems to care). Great pizza. Good coffee. Reasonable price. As previous reviewer mentioned, if you're going there particularly, it might be worth calling and double checking they're open and arranging for food. Owners speak English.

A welcome addition to the Western choices in Kunming! Good bread, world-class pastry art, a small but solid food menu. Would suggest a little more flavor in the tomato pasta, and eggs benedict would be even better if on an English muffin instead of bread.

A nice day out. I missed the second exhibition. The third exhibition, currently ongoing, is contemporary photos of the Kunming-Haiphong railway, mostly the Chinese side. I thought it was quite good. It's not a huge space, but the 1903 commercial complex has some decent dining options (including the museum cafe itself which has some expensive but very good single origin coffees).
