Join us on Sunday, January 10th for a hike and trash clean-up! We will hike from Damoyu Village (west of Kunming) to a nearby Yi village, Sanjiacun Village and enjoy the beautiful mountain and lake landscape while also helping to preserve its natural beauty.

Our hike will begin in Damoyu village. Though Damoyu village is only an hour drive from bustling downtown Kunming, you can find people here leading a much slower pace of life. The village was inhabited by local Yi dwellers for centuries but became abandoned when many residents moved to nearby cities in pursuit of higher-paying jobs. A few years back, a university professor discovered the hamlet, remodelled one of the earthen houses and settled down here to lead a laid-back and sustainable lifestyle and practice permaculture. Ever since, like-minded people who are tired of fast-paced lifestyles and heavy pollution in the major cities all over China have moved to Damoyu Village. Today there are about 150 new members living in harmony with the indigenous people and the surrounding nature.

After arriving in Damoyu Village, we will grab a quick lunch at a friendly couple's restaurant (with vegetables they have grown in their own garden!). We will then hike for an hour and half to get to at another more remote Yi village-Sanjiacun Village, which is inhabited only by local Yi dwellers. Sanjiacun village offers stunning mountain and lake views and is a popular hang-out and camping spot for city dwellers. In an unfortunate contrast to the breath-taking lake and mountain view, trash can be found around the scenic area. As a group, we can remove enough trash to polish up the site. 

Please Note!
 
-MEETING PLACE-
We will meet at Xizhan Bus Station on Hongshan East Road at 10am and take bus C61 for about an hour to get to the start of the hike, Damoyu Village. Return: You can try to hail a car at Sanjiacun Village to head back to the city or get to the main road for bus C61. Alternatively, you can walk for about an hour to get the main road for the bus. 
 
-LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY-
The activity does require certain level of physical fitness. We don't recommend children under 10 to attend unless they're a natural hiker.
 
-WHAT TO BRING-
We will be providing some reusable XL trash bags, tongs and gloves but we still recommend you to bring your own. Also, make sure to bring a mask with you, as part of the trail will be dusty.  The event is free of charge but you'll be covering your own insurance cost. We recommend you to bring some snacks using your own container. You'll be covering your own food cost at the local lunch place. 

1月10日（星期日），加入我们的山林清洁活动吧！我们将从位于昆明西的大墨雨村出发，徒步到附近的一个彝族村庄—三家村。那里有美丽的山和湖景，也有一大堆需要清理的垃圾。

虽然大墨雨距离繁华的昆明市中心不到一个小时的车程，但你可以发现这里的人生活节奏慢得多，村庄附近是宁静且不被外界打扰的。 当地的彝族居民已经在这里居住了几个世纪。但近年，一些居民为了在附近城市找寻高薪的工作而离开了这里。 他们的传统住所也因此被废弃。 几年前，一位大学教授发现了这座村庄，对其中一座土房进行了改造，并在这里定居下来，倡导着悠闲而可持续的生活方式，并实践着永续耕种。
从那以后，那些厌倦了快节奏的生活方式和中国各大城市的严重污染的志同道合的人陆续来到这里。 这个村庄变得繁盛，但依然保持着平静。 目前，共有150名左右的“新成员”， 他们与当地的住民以及周围的自然和谐友好地相处。

我们将在一间由一对友善的夫妻开办的餐厅享用午餐，他们在这里用生态方式种植自己的蔬菜。 徒步旅行将从村庄的后方开始，大约需要一个半小时才能到达另一个偏远的彝族村庄--三家村，那里只有当地居民。 三家村享有绚丽的山光湖景，是城市居民出游和露营的人气场所。 然而你也会发现，每个当地人的房屋前堆积的垃圾与这里的美景格格不入。

注意事项！
 
-集合地点-
我们将于上午10点在虹山东路的西站公交站集合，乘坐C61路公交巴士。大约一个小时到达大墨雨村，开始徒步之旅。
返回：你可以尝试在三家村搭车回到城区或者打车到公交巴士途经的主路转乘C61路公交。你也可以步行大约一个小时，回到公交巴士途经的主路。
 
 -难度-
本次活动确实需要一定的身体素质。我们不建议10岁以下的孩子参加，除非他是一个很好的自然徒步者。
 
-你需为次活动准备的-
我们将提供一些可回收的大号垃圾袋，钳子和手套，但我们仍然建议自备。另外，请确保带上口罩，因为部分路段可能灰尘比较多。活动是免费的，我们统一购买保险，但你需要自行承担费用。我们建议你用自己的容器带一点小零食。你需承担你的午餐的费用。
