Does Metro still accept the old blue (free) membership card to shop at their store?
For some time now they've been pushing their "premium" service (paid) while at the same time the items I actually want are disappearing from the shelves.

@Alex, it rather depends on which railway station you mean.
In an earlier post you indicated you would travel by high speed rail.
The HSR station is now called Kunming south and it can be reached directly by lines 1 and 4.
The old north station is a few steps from the Metro at line 2.
I don't know about the OLD south station, which is at the south end of Beijing Road, but that's the one that had the 10 minute walk around.
I'm going to start believing in miracles.
This morning I deleted the health code apps on both WeChat and AliPay as I've done several times in the past.
Today, however, when I again scanned the code in AliPay, I first got the registration screen, followed immediately with the green shield.
I guess it pay to not give up.
Can you not simply purchase foreign currency (in this case US $) at a bank?
We've done this in the past to purchase Canadian or Pound Sterling.
I've also purchased US $ at the foreign exchange kiosk at the airport, perhaps at a higher rate, but still convenient.
I'm glad to see they're opening up for a second time.
I have a friend who was in hospital for surgery and could not get it the first time.

Had my first ever visit to Slice of Heaven last night for a group party. Barbara recognized me as a newcomer and immediately came to welcome me and introduce herself.
While speaking with her at the counter, a server walked past with a pizza for one table. The aroma immediately caught my attention. It was awesome.
Our group shared 4 different pizzas. All were amazing. I think the sauce really makes the difference since it was very flavourful. I also put back to cups of cappuccino. I guess they must have fixed problems noted in other reviews because I found it to be quite good.
If I lived closer I would be a regular here.
Official proposes reopening Wujiaba Airport
Posted byI suspect installing ILS would be cheaper than trying to run 2 airports.
Official proposes reopening Wujiaba Airport
Posted byJust imagine, the new airport is closed because of inclement weather so some government official decides to use the old airport. Passengers don't know the change for the day and all the aircraft that need to depart are grounded at the other location so there are still no flights. It would require a double set of aircraft and a subway link between the two sites which is really not realistic.
China moves to lessen air pollution, Yunnan excluded
Posted byThis may be a good time for some enterprising person to be in the business of manufacturing and selling scrubbers for coal burning plants. The technology has existed for years.
Those nasty diesel trucks and buses could switch to low sulfur fuel to reduce emissions.
Kunming to monetize street vendor chaos
Posted byUnfortunately, controlling things in one area just results in these vendors moving to another unregulated location.
If the city wants to do things right then they need to do things equally across all areas.
Government undertaking aims to flush Dianchi clean
Posted byThis certainly explains why the north end of the Panlong River now has flowing water in it. Previously you could walk across the river because the water level was so low and didn't even go bank to bank.
