Sorry,last week I was too busy to post here.I had to go to classes at least 6 hours a day and
spent the rest of my time in library.So I can only answer you on sunday.
When I was an undergraduate student,I majored in Physics.There were 28 students majoring in Physics wity me.But only 4 students chose to study Physics by willing at the very beginning.The rest of the students(including me) studied Physics because they failed to be admitted to the specialty which they wanted to study and they were readjusted to learn Physics by requirement of university.
In China,the specialities of natural science such like physics,chemistry and math are called the 'byway of learning' because Chinese people think that majoring in these specialities is useless for a student to find a good job.An undergraduate student majored in Physics usally becomes a middle school teacher if he only finishs undergraduate course.Unfortunately,only a few students can be a teacher.Middle School Teacher Job is too few for too many graduate.This leads to a current situation that many students can not use the knowlege they learned at school to find an appropriate job.So,too many students don't study hard at school because they find that they only need a college diploma to bolster their qualifications.
If a student can find a jod or not depends on his college diploma,the learning process is going to be unimportant thing because he only have to finish the learning tasks.Finishing the learning tasks is totally different from get the ture knowlege.
Take my class for example,I want to be a science researcher so I work hard and study the konwlege well to become a Postgraduate to learn more physical knowledge.But many of my classmates are going to find a job early to make money so they only get enough knowlege to finish the learning tasks.They don't study for interest like me.So no matter the instructors or academic materials are good or not,a student can not get interested in what he is learning if he just want to get a college diploma.Only a few students maybe 2 or 3 change their mind and decide to learn the real knowlege of the physics during the college.I change my mind because I get interested in physics when I am learning quantum mechanics.But students who want to do scientific research like me is too few.
I am inspired by academic material.One of my classmates is inspired by his math teacher.But most students do not willing to learn physics.They are realistic and they don't have enough patient to study another six years.
I do think it's a meaningless question for an university teacher.In China,any college weather it is good or not all try to teach student well.But the current situation is that each student just finished a very long and very stressful school career before unversity.When students finally get into college,they will feel that a heaven appears but the fact is the students just arrive in a place where they learn a really useful knowlege.Without parents' and teachers' day-by-day warning,an undergraduate student can only learn by his own consciousness.The unfortunate truth is only 10% students even less can be in control of themselves so that they can get better education than others.In university,a student work hard or not depend on himself not on teacher or school.There are about 80% students waste 2 or 3 years on other things such as palying games,having fun with friends and joining in association activities.And in the last 1 or 2 years,they begin to study very hard to pass the final examination.Generally,most of them can get a graduation certificate.And the remaining 10%,I think they just give up studying and they only dawdle.

As a matter of fact,our teacher asked us to post in this forum just for giving us a chance that we can not only read or listen but also write and talk.Unfortunately,we didn't take the chance seriously and we treated it as a burden which made us spend so much time.At the begining,all of us post here because it's a necessary work for a usual performance and a big part of our English achievements.So as you can see now,the posts of students all written in the same way with the same viewpoints.
I can not disavow what you have said because it's ture we don't show our respect for all users of the forums.But I want to say that we don't mean to do it.Actually,the topic given by our teacher is 'Why should we learn English after so many years'.Our teacher wants us to find out the ture reason why we learn English after about sixteen-years-studying.
Take me for example,I started learn English at the age of six.At that time,I even could not wirte Chinese well.I had to learn English every weekend on account of my parents' order.This situation lasted about 5 years and it finally ended at my age of 11 when I just finished my primary school.My English studying ended because my familly had some problems and my parents couldn't afford any out-of-class learning.Then I learned English only in class during my junior high school and senior high school about six years.Before I went to college,I learned English only for passing the most important examination of every Chinese student.The examination named 'GaoKao' and it's a test which decides whether you can go to a good college or not.This examination can change the future of an ordinary Chinese student and it's the first turning point of a student's life.It's ironic that there is
20% of 'GaoKao' about English.So when I finally got into college,I put English away until I had to use English to pass another two important examinations.One was the postgraduate qualifying examination and aother was graduation project.
After three years infrequent practiced in English during my college,I found that I could not pass the two important examinations with a poor English and I could not finish my college without English.So I started learning English again in 2015.Luckily,I was not too late to study English again.I become a graduate student in Yunnan University.Now,I learn English actively because I major in Physics.I have to read English scientific literature to get the best and newest knowlege about physics.I have to admit that China is not good enough in natural science.So I also want to get a better education in foreign countries.In fact,the two reasons I have given are also the same reasons as other Chinese students major in natural science.
So why should we learn English after so many years?I grow up after so many years,I want to change my future,I want to get a better education,I don't want to be a normal person,I want to get more useful knowlege outside my country and bring it back to make my motherland become better and better.I post here for learning.It's useful for me and I will keep it up.
Thanks for pointing out the mistake we have made.We will pay attention to it.
