I heard that there is a German restaurant somewhere on Renminzhonglu, but couldnt find any information on the internet.
Does anyone know exactly where it is?
I was also told that the German Sandra opened a shop where she sells German goods. Has anyone got the address?
I dunno if that is the one you are talking about there is one [supposedly] on Renmin zhonglu at the Zheng Yi Fan it is in the same building as the KFC, on the 4th floor I think.
I forgot the name but walk around the KFC and take a look at the listings board, there [if you can read a little Chinese] you can see the German food characters.
I took a look at the menu but it looked like bad, crappy knock of western food. the only proper German item I could find is that they offer Radler but they didn't mention if it's the ready mixed bottle or just mixed draft beer with Sprite. which would be pointless since I always mix it myself by ordering a beer, Sprite and a glass.
I didn't try the food but if you do let me know how it was, would love to get some [good] German food.
If you want delicious, authentic German food, talk to Sandra. She is a fabulous cook!
true but a bistro or restaurant would be nice something you can just walk in and order.
I know Sandra caters but it needs time to prep and it's not exactly cheap.
But no kidding her food is awesome.
Thanks for your help. Does anyone have Sandra's mobile phone number by any chance and could give it to me please?
DISCLAIMER
I've never been to this place - but saw the sign.
LOCATION
Grand Park Hotel - Green Lake - huge street-side sign advertising German cuisine. Since it's at the Grand Park hotel - we can probably safely assume it'll be a bit on the luxury price side.
I'm still looking for those ultra-delicious potato pan-cakes (?) that my (German) aunt once made...but then...I also like KM's new Burger King - gourmand vs gourmet...
@laotou: You're talking of "Kartoffelpuffer". —> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%B6sti
It' very easy to make them yourself.
About the Grand Park Hotel. My friends went their once and said they werent sure about what they ate but it definitely wasnt German food :-D
As for being German it would be nice to eat German food in a restaurant once in a while. I can cook, but here in China my kitchen isnt as fully equipped as back in Germany and also some of the ingredients I just dont seem to get here.
Concerning Sandra's phone number. I called the "Chef's choice", but the staff didnt have her number. Then I called the number that was posted here on gokunming a while ago, but wasnt in service anymore. And then I also called some other Germans but no one seems to have her number?! But everyone keeps on telling me how good her food is and that I should call her, but how???
Any advice appreciated ^^
Moondog advertises a "Schnitzel Night" on this site. That's German, isn't it? But never tried it...
:-DD Yes Schnitzel is German food. Well, Im vegetarian.
So, nobody has Sandra's phone number??
