anyone else saw a large, black object in the sky, today 8 July at around 14:10, flying from southwest to northeast?

It looked like a very large airplane, but it was tilting and rocking around like a bird. And it was way too large to be a bird, unless perhaps a stray sea eagle?

Didn't see that, but I saw what may have been a meteorite falling to earth last week with a long blue-green tail of flames. Was huge! Did you happen to see that?

Having just re-watched 2001 a Space Odyssey, I can confirm it was the obelisk.

SW was the wind direction today july 8th so it may be something floating and drifting downwind.
Cloud base height was 1000 meters from ground so it had to be lower than 1000 meters.

I just googled "ODD" to see what it stood for. Duh!!
