Looking for Baking Powder

Where can I find some baking powder?

I checked the Carrefour off of Qing Nian Lu, but they didn't have any. Is there a substitute that is its equivalent? Thanks

Yes.........I was very happy to find Baking soda in the 'Pauls' shop round the corner (and a bit) from Salvadors too.

Baking soda is one of the main ingredients in the usual baking powder (Bicarbonate of soda).

I use it as an alternative anyway. I use about 1 tsp to 2 1/2 - 3 cups of flour (to make self raising flour), and add a teaspoon of salt too when making biscuits etc.

Don't use too much else it leaves this kind of soda tangy after-taste. I have also found self raising flour at carrefour too and yeast at my local.

I'm a big fan of cooking recipes from scratch for my family especially gluten free baking.

There are heaps of free great 'natural' recipes to bake on www.angelmothers.com

It is actually my website as I am a naturopath and nutritionist (and a mum) so if you or anyone else want any recipe ideas etc while in Kunming, please let me know

Happy Baking, Amina x
