Hi,
i wonder which guesthouse I should choose in Dali for 4-5 nights in october as a tourist. My main points are: Location, english speaking stuff, contact to other travellers, price/value, Thinking of:
- dragonfly guesthouse or
- jade emu gh
- five elements hostel
Have you been there?
Which one would you prefer?
My friend stayed at Jade Emu and was happy. The owner is New Zealander, I think. It is just over the road from one of the city gates. Not in the old city, but as good as, and at the right end of the city for the bar streets, if that is what you are into.
- jade emu gh
- five elements hostel
- lily pad
Are all next to each other and have English speaking staff. All are OK.
The jade Emu is nice, the cook in the evening is not great as the food tends to be cold, breakfast is good. 5 Elements has building works going on at the moment so might be a little noisy.
One to avoid is Mila's Heim, which is between the 2 and takes over flow from The Jade Emu. The place is very dirty, the kitchen will give you nightmares, and the owners do not care enough to invest in the decaying building.
BAD MONKEY breakfast lunch dinner drinks wheat beer, Stout, empty your wallet and they will take good care of you,,,,, ask for Theo or Wendy
At Mila's Heim they dont speak German also they pretend to be of German quality. More East German quality if you ask me.
bakery 88 breakfast ok, go up to second floor is nicer.
Hi,
thanks all of you... :-)
Seem's that the Jade Emu is the place to go...

This place is run by a friend of mine. Good choice if you want a more personal experience.
