The purpose of separating the students is to allow for different learning styles. It is extremely successful.

What does happen is that OS and local students (perhaps not even studying language) are dormed together.

I think the role of any education institution should be to provide the best teaching possible, for the type of courses taught. The Japanese students found learning to write, and recognising words in Hanzi very easy. Other students were holding them back. Asian students who were used to rote learning performed well in class, others just held them back. Non-Asian students were more interested in using functional language, and the 'deaf and dumb' students just held them back. Separate teaching favoured both groups.

Usually a 'Normal' university is a better choice. Normal Universities teach the teachers. And if the teachers have studied the 'Teaching Chinese to foriegners' courses, they will have learned some teaching theory and cultural differences.

The only uni that I am aware of the really has this sussed is in Shanghai. They don't teach European/American students with Asian students. They have separate programmes.

Most universities across China are crap when it comes to service. Management skills is not one of China's strengths.

They almost all use the 'Chinese teaching method', which is based on rote learning. This means that the teaching is crap as well.

I have never met a foreign student who was 'very happy' with any university or university Chinese course in my time in China.

On the flip side, some people are very happy with some of the Chinese training centres, others not.

It is so easy to rent a car and driver (local taxi) on day rates. You could also engage a local tour guide.
That way you can put even more back into the local economy, with the money going to locals, who will likely spend a good proportion of it locally.

There are lots of toxins, in lots of medicines. Even humble paracetamol can kill.

However, that is not what the article is about. The article is about the fact that there is a law suit.
The law suit is about labelling.

@eblair,
I suggest you learn to read and analyse before spouting off angrily.

I think it was introduced, and they were going to harvest it and take it away.
I could be wrong, but they then found that they did not have a method to take it all away. It just ended up rotting and stinking on the shore last year.

Swedish design ideas, kunming build quality. i have bought lots of ikea stuff in the past, the furniture at #11 are poor facsimiles of genuine item. Yes stuff is affordable, but poorly made and overpriced in my opinion. we took a good look around and looked closely at build quality and walked away.

It might be worth identifying which Prague venue you are reviewing.

When I first arrived in Kunming I did a tour of Wenlin Jie. I did't like the look of Prague.
More recently I have used Prague in Beichen a lot and I like it.

Ref the comment @nonsecond about being made sick from raw apple, WTF?
