If not property, then how can China prosper and flourish? If they 'kick out'/deincentivise foreigners what is left? How will they be able to create jobs and pay salaries that are with the times? I see a bumpy road up ahead. I admire that they want to lower the property costs to make them more affordable for the average Joe but without decent jobs/wages it gonna be hard to go forward with this goal. We shall see.

There ARE plenty of ghost towns. As mentioned by @Sezuwupom. The longer they stay vacant the higher the chances of these massive Hi-rises will rot. With heavy rains/snow and the like, I would prefer to buy a second condo that is already finished and operational 100%.

To me it's just common sense that you would want to protect your brain from trauma. Since the cop15 is around the corner they are cracking down on a lot of things. Let's see how long it takes before things go back to the way they were. Also this is a revenue generator. They did this for dog owners for a while. All dogs had to be registered and tagged. Look where that went. Overall it's a good thing if it stays in place. People need to be responsible.
