they asked me for some official business certificates too so now i just go with the 'mei you ka' option. never been a problem getting a card number from the next person in line. although, last week the chinese guy behind me at the check out was also shopping without a card and they refused to serve him or allow him to use another person's card even though i'd just done exactly that. maybe they'll be clamping down on that soon too...
i haven't been there for ages... hope it's not gone. i'll keep an eye open for it if i pass by today.
decent quality stuff without the crazy prices and a fair selection plus you can see from one side to the other! i expect that there are numerous others but i found them helpful and that's where i'll be going the next time i need bedding/textiles.
there's a shop on renmin zhong lu. it's on the opposite side to the Provincial Human Resources building. around there somewhere on a corner. can't remember the crossroad name...
Samsung are apparently branded as Anycall here. there are a fair few shops at Baihui Commercial Plaza (1 stop on from Xiao Xi Men on DongFeng Xi Lu). No idea how to be sure of the quality but i'm pretty sure that it will be cheaper if you get a local chinese person to buy it for you!

The only place worth going for a beer in Lijiang. Small place with a super friendly vibe. Great relaxed hangout for locals and travellers alike.
a lovely place to stay with great views of Yulong xueshan (JadeDragon snow mountain) from the roof! Beautifully decorated and hosts that make you feel like family. A million miles better than most other places locally. I can't recommend this place enough.
i thought i'd give this place another try as my usual place was closed today. even though there is now more choice, i was not impressed by the menu. they do have an apparently good range of coffees for up to 80 kuai but even a basic latte is Y26 now. the drinks were OK but nothing special and certainly not worth the money. the place looked somehow cleaner too and was certainly busier! why have so many of the cafes in this area decided that it's fine to raise their prices by so much (in some cases almost double)? i doubt i'll be going back. the 2 stars are because it was just OK and they've obviously made some effort.
not a bad selection of stuff and some of the staff obviously know their way around a bike. however, the 'special' prices for foreigners and the fact that some of the staff will use a big hammer to fix anything keeps me from going back. you could do better.
I won't go there again. The yoghurt is tasty and the curries are usually ok (they seem to vary in quality depending on the day and time). What really annoys me is the fact that they can't comprehend that I order dishes to eat TOGETHER... if my curry arrives 30 minutes after all the other dishes it's not really acceptable. Then again, neither is the 1 hour wait for the rest of the food or the incorrect dishes being sent. By the way, why can't I sit on the 3rd floor until both of the other floors are packed full? Has it never occurred to them that I might want a quiet meal and, after all, I am paying for it!

My money is on the city management doing this. Sad. Locally one issue seems to be people parking them inside their xiaoqu or even in their apartment. Some idiots are also modifying them (changing the pedals for clipless ones) or simply removing parts so that the bike will still be there for their ride home. On the bright side I have heard of car park guards stopping people from putting them in paid parking.

Posted byI've only used mobike. you can register with your passport (just upload 2 pics of yourself and the passport). you can pay via Alipay or wechat. find a bike with the app (PM me and I can send you a link via wechat). scan the QR code on the bike to ride it and lock it manually at the end. oh... you need to provide a 299rmb refundable deposit.
