Forums > Living in Kunming > Airport situation

As China prepares for Spring Festival and many Kunming residents are getting ready to go on vacation, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread with a running account of what's going on at Changshui International Airport. The problems that began in early January don't seem to be going away. If you have a noteworthy experience or know of delays, please post here. Thanks.

Forums > Living in Kunming > That "Spam button"

GoKunming is aware of the forum spam problem. Rest assured it is as annoying to us as it is to you.

Spam has to be stopped at the gate and to date we have implemented the following actions to limit it, largely based on user suggestions:

- A user verification system
- CAPTCHAs to limit intrusion by bots
- Banning the use of disposable email addresses by new users

There are also security measures running in the background to block fraudulent users from posting links. We are working on other solutions as well.

Unfortunately there are software programs available which are designed to evade security measures and then spam forums worldwide. There are even YouTube tutorials that teach people how to use them.

We have to walk a fine line between blocking spam accounts and not infringing on the posting rights of our legitimate audience.

Thanks for your input.

The walk by Dr Detrano, and everyone who accompanied him, raised 160,000 yuan. On behalf of Bob and everyone who was involved, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed.

The fight to save these kids is ongoing, so if you'd like to help out, please follow the links in the article above.

We will also be announcing details for another round of fundraising soon.

Subways are scheduled to be finished by 2020. The 2017 date is for when Yi'er-yi and Xue Fu will become two-way, but the subway construction should be chaotic for both streets for the next few years.

Passable no-frills Dongbei food including lots of dumplings, tofu, disanxian and other standards. Fair prices too.

A pleasant surprise hiding inconspicuously inside the Second Ring Road. Go for the temple, stay for the lovely forested park and its ample solitude.

Had the buffet here recently. A bit expensive but discounts are available for groups. Seafood, including crab, lobster and sushi were all fantastic. European and Chinese dishes were great as well. Beer was included with dinner. Overall, excellent service and food.

Excellent dumplings for omnivores, vegetarians and carnivores. This is a hole in the wall joint with no frills, but the owners are friendly and the dumplings are just right. Five stars if they get higher quality vinegar.
