I will just be really interested to see who turns out to be responsible. Does anyone believe that the attackers were Uighur terrorists, or any info for or against that being the case? All the news referenced some "evidence" found on scene but failed to say what exactly... I just wonder why they would come all the way down here...
high security in Beijing Shanghai. Lower levels of security in Kunming. Kunming must be an easy target compared to cities in the east

Also, the claim of the explosion could have been anything as long as there is no news from the government (car accident maybe? BBQ gone wrong? Maybe just the wrong time.) seems the information stream is screwed tight again to avoid public anxiety. However, the lack of news just increases it sometimes.
At this time the only thing that really concerns me is the missing women that were sighted with the attackers.
The airport is jam packed with security, police and military at this time. As it is a high-priority place.
PS: Don't question the motivation or reasoning of terrorists. They have to be incredibly stupid to become a terrorist in the first place. Just don't go places they would go.
Yes, lets all blame it on the Uyghur, the last of 'China's minority group' who have no laid over like a dog in the gutter to die at the hands of the Han scumlords. Of course that would have nothing to do with oil exploration and ethnic genocide against the Uyghur's in their own nation of East Turkestan by the PLA who advocate illegally settling. Just face it, just like the mythical 'Al-Qaeda' cooked up by some CIA crack heads for the sheeple of the world to believe in allot with organised religion, Han Chinese are now blaming a tiny minority who has the oil to fuel their cars in their mythical lives 'developed and safe lives' in Beijing and Shanghai. Sounds like Iraq all over again. Watch the news...it is real?
Have you been to the airport today? Any extra security requirements such as people coming to pickup arrivals cant go into the terminal?
Hey Yuantongsi, as you have put it 'Kunming is an easy target' as Kunming and Yunnan people in general are the most lazy people in China, and also corrupt. I am not surprised this has happened in Yunnan. Most police sit around all day taking bribes, playing cards or going to the knock shop. Cover your own arse in Yunnan and just stay out of crowded public areas. Who knows, the CCTV footage from the train station probably shows police running away, typical Kunming ren.
No, I haven't been to the airport today (glad I don't have to). I am just putting up the latest information on here that I get translated from my wife.
Extra security and inspections? Pretty sure they'll have those. But I think you can still go inside. Another option is get them to take a taxi out of the airport straight to your place or pick them up somewhere else after their taxi ride. (unless everyone thinks taking a taxi out of there is a good idea and there aren't any).
Why are people constantly perpetuating such negative stereotypes of police on this forum?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but 4 of the attackers were gunned down, weren't they? Sounds like police weren't sitting around playing Mahjong to me.
And let's put things in perspective. Do you risk your life in your job? You sit in an air-conditioned office all day and probably make more than police, who sometimes get themselves killed.
So take it easy with the vicious negative stereotypes.
As per Rachelc comments, witnesses saw people dressed in 'black with covered heads'. So the next time you watch a bank robber footage, they are all muslim's because of course, they are covering their heads and dressed in black. There is no evidence these were Muslims or Uyghur. It is probably an attack cooked up by some billionaire and his buddies who want oil. DO you honestly thing 10 goat herders from Xinjiang did this? They came all the way from Xinjiang to Kunming. That's a very long way to come. Blame a tiny minority that are a moral and good people and God fearing and believe that murder is a sin. This is global organised act and not originating in China, least of all goat herders from Xinjiang.
