For future reference. Watching the premiere league in Kunming is only possible at the places mentioned above or with a special cable channel. Which I don't have, can't get, and was told by a least one person would have to pay additionally per match to watch.
Its disappointing to be in such a developed country and not have access to the most watched sports league in the world. I guess since as a country China is so embarrassingly bad at the sport, they've chosen to turn a blind eye to it. Maybe there are some business reasons too, I don't know. Either way its frustrating.
There are excellent streams over PPTV, Sina and many other Chinese sites. I usually use www.livefootballol.tv to find them. It's very easy and quick. Chinese/Cantonese commentating though. The stream loads in seconds and I've never experienced losing it again.

The only ones who should be blamed are the English Premier League themselves for being greedy and selling broadcasting rights to the less convenient providers. The EPL is very popular in China, but is watched by less people since the Chinese also don't want to spend money on pay per view games.
I will give that website a try tonight and see what happens. Perhaps i stand corrected. If it works thanks x100.
@yankee I do not understand that line of reasoning. Obviously the league will sell the rights to the highest bidder. But one would think that bidder would want to pass on those acquired rights to the largest audience possible...hence advertising $. I can't imagine their in the closet pay per view business model is making all that much money. I must be missing something.
Managed half of Arsenal-Westbrom on the Sina link. Decent quality, not choppy until it stopped working at halftime. Tried the other Chinese links available. PPTV had some popup with characters I could not read or get around. Guangdong sports was showing a boxing match, under the title "arsenal westbrom".
I'll try again see, if things improve, something is better than nothing.
Yesterday was pretty crappy. I could only find one or two half-decent links on all the streaming sites I know combined. I wish Sopcast was still going strong, since I don't have much success with the torrent streaming links that replaced it.
Did you download PPTV? If not, you need to do so to watch live games.

What I meant about the EPL being too greedy is that they were too quick to sell rights to the highest bidder. It was a bad impulse since that company was experimenting with PPV. The EPL missed a huge opportunity expand their market with the numerous football fans in China while the NBA continued to grow and sell more merchandise.
Big thanks @danmairen. Watched again yesterday on Sina, perfectly clear — did not cut out once.
Yankee, what you said is a good idea in theory, but businesses don't do that. They take the cash from the highest bidder. It's the broadcasters' fault for being tightwads. If they want the audience, they can bid for it.
