The GK meet up

It's reassuring to know that there are other vets around kunming. Always feel better knowing I'm not the only one around

Just let us know who you are and tell us about yourself like JJ and I did and we can actually meet in person sometime soon.

I can do that.

I'm Joshua, 9years Army Reserve with 2 (very long) tours in Iraq.

I don't live here full time, just about half of the summer while visiting my girlfriend who does live here and trying to improve my Chinese.

There should be an "introduce yourself" thread.

I don't wanna be disrespectful but...
u guys are ex-military men? do u believe in using force to solve international conflicts?

Don't you think that that would be a question best asked in the meet up? Just sayin'.

to be honest i don't think so because it's a delicate question that may cause tension among people who meet for the first time...a forum seems more appropriate and free

Perhaps another thread is more appropriate since this thread is about 'GK meetup' and [ not ex-military men, do u believe in using force to solve international conflicts?]

Misfit, I think you will have more luck getting an answer to your question if you first verified your email and identified yourself as others have done so already. You are correct when you say - it's a delicate question that may cause tension among people who meet for the first time - all the more reason to establish TRUST.

I did a hitch but not a career: served 3 years, US Army Special Forces, 1961-1964. Became a medical doctor after return to civilian life. Am now retired and live most of each year in Kunming. Don't think I'll be able to make tonight's meetup because of other plans.

hfcampo I understand what you mean but you know i don't use this account very often and to login to the correspondent google one i'm required to verify, re-input my mobile phone, receive a code etc i personally don't agree to this policy that is more and more common to email, social network and so on, i think it's time consuming and goes exactly in the opposite direction of preventing spam..but i respect your point, guys hope to meet you somewhere in town, it seems we could have an interesting conversation, sorry not tonight cos I got different plans..
