Cadet pilot, space cadet or spaced out cadet?

In order to qualify, you must have a private pilot's license and valid medical certification before beginning training.

There was a newspaper article about Korean pilots leaving there jobs in Korean and taking jobs as a pilot in China because of the pay rate. Apparently Korea doesn't pay their pilots well enough.

I talked to a pilot at China Eastern about an ad I'd seen with a high pay rate posted. He told me they only pay the high rates to foreign pilots - less to Chinese pilots.

Doubt if this is the case with Cathay, which is Hong Kong - different policies, I'd imagine.
