That could be considered an insult to African teams.
Despite the players at their [France] disposal, Domenech has been an appalling manager, although France did reach the 2006 WC Final. Their exit during the 2008 Euro Competition should have been a sign, but Domenech has persisted with near enough the same players and the same eccentric team selection.
Nevertheless, the players have disgraced themselves with their conduct i.e. Anelka throwing a hissy fit (plus a foul-mouthed tirade during the Mexico match); players refusing to train; players contemplating boycotting the SA match.
I didn't expect much of France (see reasons above re: insanity is persisting with the same actions but expecting different results), but I'm flabbergasted at how their WC campaign has imploded.
That said, I must admit to a degree of schadenfreude at the way the French crumbled (just like the Maginot Line). However, I have a nasty feeling that any schadenfreude I currently feel, will be short-lived i.e. up to the England - Slovenia game.
I meant all the French players were black.
We expect that in America since a large percentage of our population is black - - I just didn't know that about France.
Were you also shocked to see they weren't wearing berets and eating baguettes?
sooooo middle american !
Let's see: a beret is a hat - right??
What is a baguette?
Baguette - - oh, it's bread. I looked it up on Wikipedia: "A baguette (pronounced /bæˈɡɛt/), also known in English as French stick or French bread, is "a long thin loaf of French bread"[1] that is commonly made from basic lean dough (the dough, though not the shape, is defined by French law). It is distinguishable by its length, crisp crust, and slits that enable the proper expansion of gases."
A large percentage of Americans are Black? By what definition is large? And if we're going by proportional representation, then where are the Asians and the Latinos on the American squad? (I don't follow soccer so I don't know if there are any, my gut guess is that there isn't)
At any rate, thank you sir, for keeping our country safe. I salute you and all our vets. God Bless...
Cheers~
Thanks - - Tony. As far as percentages - - I don't really know as they are all Americans to me.
Cheers
On another note, I had to watch the USA vs Algeria game, because the LCD was monopolised by my American class-mate. We both cheered and jumped around the lounge when the US scored a late, late goal that sends them through to the next round.
By my permutations, I actually think that the US tops the group due to goal difference!
Quite an exciting game, actually
