About CAYA:
I use CAYA for domestic flights. Have not tried them for international flights. Work with them on the phone and the English is good enough. They follow up with SMS messages. They have my mobile number in their system so it saves a lot of talk as they know my address and passport.
Expedia bought elong and, I guess, no longer services China.
You can check flights and prices here:
flight.elong.net/index_en.html
Assuming you mean expedia.com, elong.net is actually an expedia company now, so it serves as their China based website. The real Expedia is actually my website of choice for travel in China now because they have the same prices (in USD) as elong and you can pay with a US credit card and not pay a service fee for using an international card as you would with elong. I just get to expedia through my VPN (also for secuity with credit card use) but I'm sure you should be able to figure out some way to get to the US based site.
Thanks b galipeau
Does anyone know where to get info about KMG to international destination info?
www.expedia.com/?rfrr=Header.POSRedirect.www.expedia.com.hk%2FHome.htm
seems to redirect to the US website.
Mine still redirects to HK
Go figure?
@ Wanderer, You can also give it a try with,
www.wondersofyunnan.com
I worked with them and i think they are a doing a good job.
They speak English and are located in Kunming. They are connected to; KUNMING TRAVEL SERVICE INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD
thx yankee, that one works.
I think it's better to check online first, even if you won't book with them.
I don't think travel agents go out of their way to find the cheapest flights. And prices can fluctuate quite a bit from one day to another.
Checked price for a flight on ctrip, then called CAYA. The price CAYA quoted was 30% higher. So it might be a good idea to shop around a bit.
Called Ctrip. No delay on the phone. English rep who speaks great English booked it. No hassles. To pay cash, you can pay at their counter at the airport or at their Kunming office downtown. They can deliver tickets same day, but only to some parts of the downtown area.
