Shools getting shut down??

Still waiting for a single example of the 40 schools that were closed down. How about a link to a news article or is all this a figment of someone's imagination.

@napoleon
you definitely have to get a loose wallet getting some papers,even legally.

visa i never had a problem but i paid a few thousand kuais and a fruit basket (don't ask). getting business licenses and other documents. maybe it got better i dunno, but it's still very common practise.

I have to disagree with you again.

15 years ago, yes, saw it all with my own eyes.

Now, it's not being offered or accepted on levels of your common Joe. No sensible people are going to risk their iron rice bowls for fruit baskets nowadays.

Never heard from the OP again - I put this thread in the rumor, gossip bullshit pile.

NO schools have been closed here in Kunming!!!

@ Napoleon, we were told if wanted to get that one particular document [I won't say which one, cos I heard there is only one place in Kunming where to get it.] - you were told by that office, not the lady in charge, to bring a nice fruit basket. And to not make it cheap with a few apples and pears.

I hate to admit it, because I hate corruption, as much as much as the current p.r.e.s.i.d.e.n.t. does. But we did get the paper! And there were no other solutions.

I am inexperienced in business but I did have a very interesting chat with a senior manager with a European horticultural company.He told me that in the last 7 years it has changed very much. Before it was all kickbacks and sweeteners now it didnt happen with his company at all. Thats a fundamental change.

I'm with Daithi. That happens very seldomly if it all. There's a telephone number to call if you are ever proposed anything like that.

Over the past 15 years I have been involved in some projects over the way and have been to countless offices over the years, and have noticed a considerable change.

I have noticed danger lurks behind every corner for you though and everyone has an agenda to cheat others. Relax a bit hey and be thankful you're not in a country that is really corrupt or dangerous.
