i'm always getting approached for help in this country. technically, there's nothing wrong with asking for help or giving help. but it's incessant. and why me? i'm getting sick of it. i have my own problems to deal with.

there's a billion people around, but apparently not too many who are particularly good at helping or willing to help anybody with anything?

to me this is all part of the dark side of the culture. dog eat dog. each man for himself. get rich and f off.

if they ask one of their own for help they lose face. you have no face so there is no loss in asking coz you wont judge them for needing help. just for asking, again, agina, again.

i don't judge them for needing help. but believe you me, they judge me when i refuse. not all of them. but many of them. if i had an rmb for every evil stinkeye i've gotten for refusing help, i'd be rich and fleeing.

and here's a crazy story for you. i was at a dinner and some guy was softening me up by buying me drinks because he needed something. and guess who was sitting between us? you guessed it. a wealthy local who has a daughter studying in the US. so here i am, a poor shmuck who can barely pay my own bills. some guy is begging me for help next to a multi-millionaire. ernest hemingway couldn't make this shit up.

I won't promise not to interfere just so you can bully me or other users freely in the future, Camp. But in this case, if I was presuming incorrectly, I apologise.
