Shangri-La by Chongqing Ballet
The ballet Shangri-La was the result of an inspiration from The Lost Horizon, a novel written by the British writer Hilton in 1930s. It tells the moving story of a young artist Dan Qing, who has been enjoying a prosperous life while at the meantime, suffering from real life stress, goes to pursue Shangri-La, which is the utopia symbolizing tranquility and serenity. The performance blends skillfully ballet with the theme of “Shangri-La” in a distinctive way. By integrating those elements of international and folk culture fashionable and classical at the same time, this ballet presents to the audience a modern and aesthetic audio-visual enjoyment as well as a fantastic stage and exquisite dance.
