Frédéric Ciriez will visit several Chinese cities to take part in the opening of The Bacongo Sapeurs exhibition – a series of photographs by Baudouin Mouanda.

Frédéric Ciriez is an expert on ‘la Sape’ (Société des ambianceurs et personnes élégantes - The Society of Ambiance-Makers and Elegant People) and its practitioners (‘sapeurs’). One of the protagonists of Mélo, named Perfect, is a dustman by day, and a ‘sapeur’ by night. The central part of the novel relates to a day in Perfect’s life when he plans his participation in the biggest ‘Sape’ contest of the year.
