just come man, but don't come to normal uni, it is the worst place to study chinese, trust me i study there, maybe you can try one of these private schools, there advertise themselves right here on gokunming, and they can offer you visa and accommodation at about the same rate, if you really have to go the the normal uni for the purpose of visa, then yeah come with a tourist visa and then there are a million ways of extending your visa while you are here

i just got mine and some info are updated, you need to go there to schedule an appointment before the exam, you'd better buy a menu there for 30 yuan, and you don't need to take the exam on thur only anymore, you can schedule it for any day of the week as long as it is possible.

ok, to clear things up, I do not plan to drive it in the city at all, as I have an ebike for that, I need it for out of town travelling and country side visiting, to places such as luo ping, da li, and it makes things much easier with the whole family and the baby, the question is should I trust buying a second hand car in China? (no budget for a brand new) or is it easier to just rent, maybe less hassle?
