Explains why so many drivers are really grumpy. Was amazed the other night at 9:30 i was running towards bus i needed knowing would be at least 30 minutes for another, the driver stopped re-opened his door for me and waited. I smiled, thanked him for waiting and he smiled back.

For 2 years before coming to Kunming i lived in Liuzhou, Beihai, spent a lot of time in Nanning, Shenzhen, Ghaungzhou, Foshan. I really liked Liuzhou which had a beautiful river run through the middle of the city, Beihai with the sea, and i agree with HFCAMPO that Nanning is a good city, but they all have one thing in common. Hottest most humid place i have lived for 6 months out of the year. Fall was great with nice weather and lots of sunshine, but my experience was very little sun in Jan, Feb or March. 4 years ago when i came to visit Kunming for 2 weeks at the end of March it was cool and dry when i left Beihai so i did not leave my air conditioning on. It got very hot and humid while i was gone and i came back to my clothes, bedding, and everything in my apartment covered with mildew.

Walmart is closing 5 stores probably over labor disputes and and chicken little runs around again screaming the sky is falling the sky is falling. What a sad reality some people choose to live in.

What ever we call it Global Warming or different weather patterns, must focus on fact that even global warming advocates have said though the earth is warming we will see huge fluctuations in the weather in some areas. Warming of earth will impact areas differently. Example USA last summer set like 10,000 all time heat records. This spring was almost coldest all time in northern states influenced by strange weather pattern over Greenland?. Because much less an area of the Great Lakes are freezing over are now experiencing record evaporation rates year around and they are at or have exceeded record low levels which has and will greatly impact shipping in the future on the Great Lakes. You can read about so many negative changes happening such as Snow capped mountains bare half the year now, Glaciers melting, ice caps with less and less ice. Lets hope we are in a trend that will reverse itself soon.

Started up my new air purifier yesterday, had no idea that it would work this good. Kunming air from over 200 to 57 now. HaHa.

I was going to comment that the picture was taken on a good day because you can see the western hills. Many days and i look out my front window at the western hills i cannot see them in the haze. That was not the case when we moved here last fall. Could see them very clearly most days.

Great western dinner at a reasonable price. The salad bar is a wonderful bonus if you order a dinner meal. I like to get their early just after 5, then salad bar is especially fresh and full of all the selections. Staff are my favorite in Kunming. They are friendly and attentive, but not over bearing. Give you menu and then give you time to make a selection.



Recently i wrote a review that after eating beef burritos at Salvadors i ended up with a bad stomach ache and the last time a case of severe diarrhea. It was commented later that maybe the sour cream was a factor, and that may be true. My only dairy is milk in my coffee and i have noticed i sometimes end up with a stomach ache after drinking 2-3 cups in the morning. I make my own sour cream for tacos i make at home and will have to pay more attention to how that affects me in the future.



Metro has many things i cannot find other places, but i still find it a frustrating place to shop sometimes. Seem to frequently be out of things. For example their was very little fresh meat to choose from and actually they were out of many things and i was their just after lunch. They had no loaves of toasting bread and could not tell my wife when they would be getting more in. In looking at the fresh date on Hormel ham it had expired in September. However for first time i was able to shop all the aisles. Not filled with merchandise to be stocked or fork lifts.



To all those expecting an authentic Irish Pub come on we are after all living in China. I have eaten there several times and the burger is still the best in Kunming in my opinion. Staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. Place is not perfect but what is in CHina. Owners have been wonderful in opening up early for special events like the US Super Bowl.



Went for Pizza special tonight. Had the Barbeque chicken and it was very good. Also enjoyed an exceptionally large order of French Fries. Everything was good tonight and owners where not there.
