Depends largely where you live. Before I lived in the northwest and the internet was so-so. Near Beijingroad it's generally terrible. In the northeast I've never had problems, usually 6+ mbps(megabits)

If you're concerned about the quality of food then cook yourself. The majority of restaurants use "recycled" oil. Just ask your friends/neighbors about gutter oil( digou you) if you need motivation to cook at home.
Besides that even when you ask for no meat it usually comes with it. Then heaven forbid you send it back/refuse to pay... If you don't know the owner/cook/someone who works there it can be a lot of trouble ensuring it's vegan.
It's disturbing on multiple levels, but the reality is that it's very hard for people from the Philipines and many African countries to get a work visa with the current political situation.
There's one just north of the main bus station in the north(北市区车场). I don't remember the name off hand, but I can find out tomorrow.

Cheese tasted great. Much better than other pizza joints.
Excellent salad bar. Hamburgers are usually ok. The fancier dishes were a little lacking.
Giving it a 4 stars for the salad bar. If you were going there for "fine dining" then probably best to go somewhere else.
The store also has some nice imported food(though obviously Metro is cheaper for some things). The freshly baked goods are nice too.
Seems to be pretty hit or miss. First time I went there the pizza and hamburgers were great. 2nd time the pizza was terrible, and the hamburger was ok. 3rd time the pizza was ok, but people were smoking inside by the time we left. Guess the no smoking policy is not enforced.
Not bad. Pretty much what you would expect, but expensive for China.
Expensive, but decent bread. Other places are better, but not bad if you're in a hurry.
Kunming cracking down on 'uncivilized' behavior...again
Posted byThe traffic police will be the ones smoking in the corner and spitting.... while the cars will be parked down the center of the street, and cars going down the wrong way because they can't turn left due to said cars in the middle of the street.
Just saw it this week on a road just off of Beijing Lu.
Spring City's tallest skyscraper nears completion
Posted byLarge extravagant construction nearing completion... isn't that the sign when the bubble is about to burst?
Government undertaking aims to flush Dianchi clean
Posted byLast time I checked heavy pollutants can't be "flushed" clean. The title should be related to this: "the effort is expected to provide Kunming with another source of water in times of drought as well as generate hydropower."
Beijing Lu road construction to last nine more months
Posted byAnd they can move the bus stops into the bike lines like all the newly redone streets and free up two more lanes on Beijing Lu..... it's working so well. I heard the hospitals love it.
Yunnan official publicly proposes increased transparency
Posted byYes, because they never cover their license plate when they eat at fancy restaurants or drive around town...*end sarcasm*
