Corruption and useless food guides

Tripadvisor is really full of bullshits.
If you have a look to the places (restaurants/BB/hotels) in Shangri-la, just to take an example...you'll understand.

Nobody removed the closed business from the listening.(not fair from the owners, in order to provide a service for tourists)
From the other side many bad reviews around, just cause the place was closed. I don't understand.

Lonely Planet. One of the worst one.

Michelin. Once was the only serious one. Now corruption came also on this guide.

A my chinese friend in Shanghai, owner of a cafe, told me there are more people came at her cafe. Saying...we've a strong reputation on daodao (chinese tripadvisor). "If you want a good review, we want a free meal" (4-5 persons.)

I heard also someone on daodao minacing, and asking, a fee (500 rmb), to review positevely.

————-

When I came in China I loved the thing that everyone can review a place easily, on many channels.

But now I see that the God of Money and Reputation close this freedom.

————

another thing to say.
about Food&Beverage&Hotels...
everybody can write here and there..
of course even people don't have any idea how to cook a pancake and wash a dish.

If I want to review an ingeener, a taxi driver, a consulate, a government law, newspapers...

If I want to denunce something ( for example the party in Chonqing at new Italian embassy, with italian money, feeding 300 persons; like usually; in Shanghai nowadays is normal and nobody says nothing...or CANNOT)

if I want to report about the chinese racist guy working in Dali PSB..

www.gokunming.com/en/forums/thread/9854/family_visa

where can I do that?

——-
real example: I want to report about this guy in Dali PSB...
actually I should do it in the same office, at the second floor..!!!!!

And if the boss of denunce office is his father??? My visa, passport and status would be on risk.

I was trying to report this anedoct in a Police Station in Dali. They laugh!
"How we can help you to report something about our superiors??"

——-

We live in a sick world.
We're brainwashed from newspaper where just stupid people can comment.
If your comment is dangerous will be removed.

——

I'm not saying nothing new; I know.

I'm just thinking, back to Food guide topic, to remove my place from all this shit.

Paint a michelin star on my window; that's it.

———

sorry for the closed thread with no questions; it's more an outing.
but any inputs and other point of views are appreciated.
thanks

———-

last thing
a blacklist of yunnan (laowai and locals) people, here??

GoKmg would be more usefull and interesting.
And people before to be ass=ˆ#es
could think longer.

I dream a better world!!!!!

I've seen reviews on Tripadvisor placed by Chinese daodao members that rated a hotel as "excellent". Us foreign reviewers complained about the dirt and lack of heat and hot water in the rooms. Either the Chinese people have lower standards or the reviews were paid for (or fake).

In defense of Tripadvisor, if a restaurant has closed they have no way of knowing unless someone tells them.

The point is that the owners have to communicate that their business closed down. who did in Shangri-la?

..if we're talking about providing a reliable service.

@ blue

In all fairness, if a business is going out of business, the last thing on their minds would be to contact every website to inform them that they are no longer in business.

There was a report not so long ago about a crap ton of reviews on Tripadvisor being fake. There were some users with more reviews of hotels than the total amount of days since their first review and the time of report. It's not only Chinese businesses doing this, but also European and American businesses employing people to post fake reviews in Chinese to attract more Chinese tourists overseas.
