Its probaby a good idea for people to be aware of the situation and keep a low profile in certain situations, but I doubt its more dangerous for Laowai in general than normal.

If this is correct it is concerning.
It would be interesting to see if there is any response from CCTV.

I posted the link because I felt there was a need to be aware of the reaction to what we, expats, do and how we behave. Which is pretty normal on the part of Chinese.

Keep smiling and keep cool. DO NOT overreact. Be situationally aware as you go about your business as you should be doing anyway.

It is just SOS. Give it some time and it'll pass.
