More people will get on at Kunming than Kunming South, so they need to allow plenty of time for the passengers to all get on the train. I agree that 32mins is excessive though, 15mins is plenty.

That's just one train... They are all different. The next train only stops 4 minutes in Kunming.

Edit: looks like they had a special schedule for july 1st, the first day. From July 2nd, the stops in Kunming Station are just a few minutes.
