Are there any laundromats in Kunming? Preferably with dryers, but not a must. I live near the north train station but could bike basically anywhere for this.

(My landlord refuses to fix my washing machine and suggested that I just wash my clothes in the kitchen sink...)

There is a laundry located in a laneway, between 275 & 277 Beijing Lu, opposite the he ping cun bus stop. They do both wet and dry cleaning, their telephone # is 3170279. You will need to be able to communicate enough mandarin to make it clear what you want. They will also pick up washing, though they may charge extra for this or will only pick up a full load, I didn't really get into the specifics. I think you'll find that a lot of the dry cleaning places will do loads of washing. I think they would hang them out to dry rather than use dryers though.

Just north of Green Lake at 44 Qingyun Jie there is a new dry/wet laundry called Bonnych (布兰奇), which despite the odd English name looks like the real deal, with dryers. I haven't checked prices, you can call them at 5157381. They also have a website: www.bonnych.com.

Bonnych is not a laundromat. It's a dry cleaning service. What's funny about all their English signage is that it's a complete fabrication. There is no such company in the U.S. They opened up a location in "Think UK" on Jiao Ling Lu a few years ago. The cleaning services look OK, but I usually stay away from companies that result to lies in their marketing materials.
