Hi....I am going to be coming to Kunming to work near Dianchi Lake and wondered if anyone can recommend a good area to Rent a clean, modern 1 bedroom apartment in this area. Would really like to be close to some convenient amenities such as shopping/eating etc. I know there is a shopping area with a Carrefour near the top of Dianchi Road as you head back into the city but someone mentioned there is also a new residential development and shopping mall in this area now but nor sure where. I am currently I. Shanghai and will relocate so. So any he,p us much appreciated

Dianchi is a big area. Dianchi Satellite City (Dianchi Wei Chen) has many housing developments, but if you go a little North to Guangfu Lu, about 2km east of Dianchi Lu, there is the Aegean shopping mall. This is in the area around KIA (as discussed in other recent threads).
There are many developments in the area around the Aegean Mall. However, one bedroom places are unusual in this area. Unless you can find a SOHO development .
