Right now - we're GUESSING whether the current gokm website & blog management software has the ability to activate LIKES, hence my query to the gokm crew.

If it doesn't exist - well, it doesn't exist and we can quit expecting this feature that was alluded to such a LONG time ago.

But would be nice to at least put this issue to rest until such a feature DOES become available for the gokm crew to advertise, when ready & appropriate.

I believe they were looking for a web developer not too long ago. Hopefully for this website.
In the meantime, since pretty much everyone became aware and calmed down thanks to this tread, let's try to make it last.

I for one would welcome a return to more informative and less insulting forums. I haven't bothered to post anything much since it started to disintegrate into obscure slinging matches.

I'm cool with gokunming, but personally I think this is too much about too little.

OK gokunming, Reality is blocked as a topic but...I'm sure it's still out there somewhere, and affects us here in Kunming...will report findings when I find them. (:

Regarding the requests for some sort of up/down system for comments and forums: A site update has been on its way for quite a while, but as GoKunming uses a custom-built Content Management System, introducing new features is unfortunately not always as easy as flipping a switch.

We are in the process of improving the homepage, introducing a brand-new 'global' search function, making the listings more navigable and adding some features to the forums based on user requests.

We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. Our main goal is to offer the best experience for both our users and our clients and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hah, my comment right after Ocean got deleted. I thought it was a pretty accurate observation too. How did that one violate tos? Nm. I'd definitely prefer up/down to this China style vanishment.

I like the "blocking feature" idea.
I proposed it in the past to gokunming too after a series of rants and double meaning "insults" by people. This way you only have to read the posts with actual topic related content.

Personally I like to use gokunming less because of people spending too much time on here... Waiting for the next topic.
