KCEL gives you a hard time, once you want to transfer to another school. The staff have orders not to let students go without informing the Laoban. Once you've survived the barking woman with the fake smile (the right hand of the Laoban), after talking to the Laoban, and after hours of wasted time you will finally get your transfer sheet. You do not need to tell them to which school you want to transfer. It is only for their record. The name of the new school does not have to be on the transfer sheet!

I'm lucky enough to be an English speaker, so I could conceivably come back on a work visa, but I'm still unclear as to whether or not I would be eligible for a residence permit.
