Road tripping in a private car in Yunnan will be a little faster in the coming months as the province will raise its maximum highway speed limit from 110 to 120 kilometers per hour by the end of this year, according to a Yunnan Daily report.

The new speed limit is unlikely to affect travel times within Yunnan as it will only apply to small passenger vehicles and will not include large trucks or buses. It will also have little effect upon the countless dangerous curves and stretches of highway throughout Yunnan in which the speed limit is reduced to 60 or 40 kilometers per hour.
