Why would you want to be performing such an experiment? Finding out how far you can push the limits of rules put in place for public safety is not the way to be thinking anywhere in the world! Let alone Kunming train stations with previous related history.
@dolphin Most of his video titles are click bait and the actual issues talked about in the videos are a bit more down to earth. Still I don’t think anyone would watch them and take it as gospel that’s the way life is in China. It’s just another persons perspective as is most of the stuff written on here. You won’t get me rushing down some backstreet to buy mixian or putting on a tin foil hat just because I read someone’s opinion about stuff here.
All taken with a pinch of salt!
As for the ‘Chinese guy kissed me’ just some old pissed up guy in a small city so excited to see some laowai :o) probably one of the more stupid vids
It feels to me like the issues with foreigners leaving China are all a bit hyped. They’re still here and going by some of their vids, you’d think they’d of been blacklisted a long time ago if some of their vids were 100% true.
Still a good watch if you’re living in China though. Always good to see how other foreigners make their life here.
Tiger When it comes to most food I'd say I'm with you when it comes to taste (just being British assures that). But gimme a hotpot any day of the week, as long it's not every day otherwise my stomach would start to complain lol.
The leftover dishwater soup is definitely not a great choice but others like a Beef hotpot or a Chongqing style hotpot all wet the appetite. A big part of the whole taste experience comes with the dip for me, done well it makes it all that bit better.
The Chinese hotpot at the end of the day is definitely not a classy meal though. But who needs classy when it comes to taste, just like a bit of fried chicken :o)
Favourite hotpot? Not Chinese, has to be a Thai hotpot. One of my fave meals in Asia!
@dolphin One's man's pleasure is another's pain, I personally dig the so called 'stinky' tofu. Always happy to see it ordered and the smell is hardly of the level you claim it to be, the smell equals good food arrival to me ;o)
It's on the rise and being legalised in certain countries because some people are starting to see it's not quite deserving of the label it got back in the day! Obviously not all people as your tone seems instantly against it's use ;o) It's something that shouldn't be compared to the likes of opium based narcotics and doesn't lead to things like HIV/AIDS infections so shouldn't be in the same discussion.
"A more serious picker who spends most of the day searching for scrap could make more than ten yuan per day"
Always wondered how much these people make, knew it would be low but still thought it'd be a little higher than that :(
Makes that Starbucks coffee feel even more of a waste of money than ever before and it's always felt like a waste!
Been here several times lately and every time I've enjoyed my meal. Don't know why some others have said it was pricey, the price has always seemed fair to me :)

A look at Yunnan's evolving anti-drug strategy
Posted by@napoleon some might say choose the cliff ;o)
Drugs come in all guises, I know the drugs I take for my personal issue are very welcome, so some drugs are definitely better than others.
