Hi,
in this case i might apply to some other Unis in KM as well, even though the application costs a few $. Because if "Chinese Language and Culture" just means a bit of language and some calligraphy, it might not be what I'm looking for. I was hoping to learn for exaple guzheng and taiji to a reasonable level during studies, as well as learn a bit about history, politics, and so forth. 4 years is too long for just language and a bit of calligraphy. But i do need the degree (in anytthing) at the end of it, otherwise I would go private and quick. OH: are the degree courses at chenggong or city? Anybody currently doing a bachelors, hope to hear from you. tx!
hi.
I'm moving to KM soon. Does anybody know about the above? I am very interested, and applied to Yunnan Normal through CUCAS, and was accepted, they said. However, the invitation letter arrived it was for, I think, a prep year. I would ask CUCAS or YN directly, but straight answers are not their strong point. Also, I made the mistake of initially trying to talk to them in person with my limited chinese to find out, and even a chinese friend tried, but I'm none the wiser. Do they decide in september wheter the student is qualified for the bachelors course, and dump you into the prep class if your chinese is not up to scratch? I dont have HSK but I think I can manage it by september.
And about the bachelors program: whats the curriculum?? I really could not find out anyplace. Of course Im interested in the language, but the "culture" element is just as important for me. Basically, I need a visa to stay a few years, as well as a degree at the end of it. "Just" the language seems too limited. Thankfull for any input!
