Read posts from several months ago that many were having trouble with E-scooters being stolen. I am interested in hearing if still huge problem and how to keep one safe. I know helps a lot buying a couple of heavy U shaped locks and locking to post if possible. Also the licensing situation right now seems very unclear. Scooter shops say you just need to carry registration card and police will not hassle you. Would buy used but not sure how to find dependable used scooter. Friends of mine have been burned so badly with used. Any new advice would really be appreciated.
Call me selfish i have received some terrible medical care in this country and it all can be contributed to doctors not listening to my symptoms and jumping to the wrong conclusions. I have also received some very good care when friends and my spouse have helped bridge language barrier. It gives me a lot of piece of mind knowing their is a clinic where i can communicate my concerns and doctors will listen. I am willing to pay more for that service and do not mind if my payment within reason is helping give someone else medical care. I do understand what Magnifico is saying, but when it comes to my health i will swallow my principles and ignore much for the sake of good care especially when i am in pain.
@Magnifico, What i have read so far is people do not care if this is a christian based clinic, but in fact are just happy to have a good option for healthcare available to them. If i am in pain or sick and they can help me i am not going to debate with myself whether their affiliation goes against my beliefs. If you would re-read my previous post i said before the big health care organizations took over health care in the usa people never had to worry about getting good care regardless of financial considerations. People in usa are now often refused treatment because they cannot afford care or insurance companies refuse to pay.
What a wonderful relief to hear that western people can actually go to a doctor who understands us, and maybe even listens to our symptoms. Magnifico you must not be from USA or have not payed attention as many of the most highly rated hospitals were either started by a charitable organization or by the church. The world renown Mayo Clinic which has treated world leaders from many countries without regard to religion, two affiliated hospitals are Methodist and the oldest is St. Marys which is still run by an order of Sisters. Many of the church related hospitals have been gobbled up by large health related organizations and many people bemoan the fact that before no one regardless of religion, rich or poor were ever refused treatment.

Peter, think program is far from breaking down, i see hundreds of these bikes being ridden everyday. My understanding is the companies have purchased so many of these bikes that the cost is very low, so i am sure they have build in a good size damage and loss ratio for the idiots that choose to not follow the rules or damage the bikes. From what i can see the bigger problem bigger than the damage to bikes is the ones being hidden and locked up for the owners personal use.
Great western dinner at a reasonable price. The salad bar is a wonderful bonus if you order a dinner meal. I like to get their early just after 5, then salad bar is especially fresh and full of all the selections. Staff are my favorite in Kunming. They are friendly and attentive, but not over bearing. Give you menu and then give you time to make a selection.
Recently i wrote a review that after eating beef burritos at Salvadors i ended up with a bad stomach ache and the last time a case of severe diarrhea. It was commented later that maybe the sour cream was a factor, and that may be true. My only dairy is milk in my coffee and i have noticed i sometimes end up with a stomach ache after drinking 2-3 cups in the morning. I make my own sour cream for tacos i make at home and will have to pay more attention to how that affects me in the future.
Metro has many things i cannot find other places, but i still find it a frustrating place to shop sometimes. Seem to frequently be out of things. For example their was very little fresh meat to choose from and actually they were out of many things and i was their just after lunch. They had no loaves of toasting bread and could not tell my wife when they would be getting more in. In looking at the fresh date on Hormel ham it had expired in September. However for first time i was able to shop all the aisles. Not filled with merchandise to be stocked or fork lifts.
To all those expecting an authentic Irish Pub come on we are after all living in China. I have eaten there several times and the burger is still the best in Kunming in my opinion. Staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. Place is not perfect but what is in CHina. Owners have been wonderful in opening up early for special events like the US Super Bowl.
Went for Pizza special tonight. Had the Barbeque chicken and it was very good. Also enjoyed an exceptionally large order of French Fries. Everything was good tonight and owners where not there.
