5 years now-Xi'an, Hangzhou, Yizhou and now 2 years in Kunming. Unfortunately, I can't take the pollution and the altitude anymore so am leaving for Vietnam in 15 days for 2 years with my husband who teaches physics-I can't teach anymore but so far Yizhou is my favorite place-a sleepy little farm town in Guangxi province. Kunming is next but the new construction and influx of people has really ruined why I came here in the first place. Bye Bye China-actually has been good to us overall. Thanks
I've been here about seven years. I've been to about 30 cities in China, and I have to say that KM is one of the most livable cities in this country. That being said, I really don't like when people ask me this question because it is often asked with an agenda. Not saying that is happening on this thread but it happens in real life.
Other person: How long have you been here?
Me: Uh, about 7 years.
Other person: Well, I've been here 8 years so obviously you don't know jack squat about this country!
Me: Whoa! Calm down man. Everyone can have diff...
Other Guy: Listen you seven year tourist! I've been here longer than you so no matter what you say it's wrong and you are barely human!
Me: **backs away slowly**
@AndrewD: I always like it when people tell you proudly the number of times they have visited China. that is a sign you are dealing with a real old China hand.
